looking for a professional, who is able to optimize an ajax search field from a mysql-database with more than 100.000 items - also the search algorithm.
i have a input-search-field like google to present results on the fly, but it takes ages to show-up and then it switches with every additional letter in the searchbox.

Is possible view the database structure used for the query ? I think that 100.000 record is not so big for mysql. in a site that I made (teknemedia dot net) there is more tan 100.000 record and the search is quickly. Please send me the db structure and we can solve all.

What does you make think this is about up to 800 EUR? Do you have single words only and a key on the table? Or do you want mutli word results the way google returns them? Have you found out what is causing the slow down? Eg using Xdebug you can benchmark PHP easily (without modifying code) - using Firebug or the like you can benchmark your JS code and Network delay. If sending data is the bottle neck you can either only send first 100 results or use gzip compression.
