According to a recent survey conducted by the Chinese Happiness Index, the happiest occupation in China is that of a Freelancer. (No surprise, we’ve been saying it for years!)

Of the Chinese citizens interviewed, 9 out of 10 showed a desire to decrease their workload and spend more time at home with their loved ones. 7 out of 10 of those surveyed believed that in the future they will be happier, with income (for men) and health (for women) as being the keys to happiness.

The flexible life as a freelancer, combining both a steady income and increased free time, meant that it easily topped the occupation list, ahead of teacher, working for the government and artist.
