Happy Birthday Emoticons!

A day like today 34 years ago in Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Scott Fahlman was the first documented person to use the emoticons 🙂 and 🙁 with a specific suggestion that they be used to express emotion. The main purpose was to distinguish serious posts from Jokes.

However, this was the first document used of emoticons, is not the first time that they have been used to express emotions through icons. From ancient Egypt till Morse code and Magazines publications emoticons, have been there to help us to express what we feel without words.
