Meet José: Front-End Developer
Meet José from our Front-End Development at twago
First questions first. So – what does a front-end developer actually do?
Basically he is like a translator – he translates designs into the programming language. Everything you see on our website has been programmed by our front-end development team. HTML, CSS and JavaScript are must-have skills. But the mind of a front-end developer does not only have to be super analytic – you also need to think creatively at the same time.
Born in the beautiful south of Spain, in Antequera – a small city close to the Málaga – José studied Computer Applications Development before working in Madrid for a while. He then decided to leave the Spanish sun behind and to embark on a journey to the European Mecca for Programmers – Berlin.
His love for coding has eventually brought him to our office in Kreuzberg, where he gets to work on interesting projects and new products with our IT-team every day. The most recent programming challenge he has successfully accepted: the new twago App, which has only just launched this summer.
But let’s not just talk about IT and get to the important question here –
If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- “Porra antequerana, a traditional dish of his hometown, Antequera. It is a kind of cold soup made of a mix of vegetable served with bread. My dad’s specialty.”
If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?
- “To the middle ages.”
If you could share a meal with four individuals, living or dead, who would they be?
- “Joaquín Sabina (Spanish singer), Charles Bukowski (American writer), Kase.O (Spanish rapper) and my grandma (for cooking).”
What’s your favorite fast food chain?
- “I hate fast food.”
If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
- “Still waters run deep.”
And finally –
José’s advice for all aspiring front-end developers out there
