I need a video player + recorder for a music band website running in PHP.

This component might be done in any language, java, php or flash, the most important things are:
1) I don't want to pay the flash media server
2) I don't want to crash the user pc

this player has to join multiple video together.
Barely similar is the audio player recorder on THOUNDS.COM
