I have a 3ds max with VRay scene that needs to be prepared for being used inside a game. Therefore the polycount needs to be reduced and lighting needs to be rendered into a lightmap.
At the moment the scene has about 950thousand polygons. The poly count reduction should aim at less than 6000 Polygons. Complex objects that are not reducible can be removed from the scene (e.g. chess board, fire, plants).
The material textures need to be aggregated. At the moment they are scattered into 80 files. They should be reduced in a way that only 6 or less files are used, each with a resolution of 1024x1024 pixels.
The lighting of the scene should be rendered into one lightmap texture with a resolution of 1024x1024 pixels. That means that the scene materials should contain 2 texture channels: the first texture channel is the material texture and the second texture channel is the lightmap texture. So when rendered only with constant environment light and no light sources, the scene should look like being lighted at the moment.
